Some people know instinctively what path they want to take into their young adult years, but for others it is less clear. Below are some resources for exploring paths and careers as you consider what to do next after PLC:

 

Online

  • Career Coach, question-based approach, via Mercer Co Community College (available free online)

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook, from the U.S. Dept of Labor and Statistics, sorts career options based on average pay, the level of education needed, and how much the profession is expected to grow over the next 10 years (available free online)

  • You Science, uses games to uncover a user's natural talents (~$30)

  • Holland Code (RIASEC) Test, question-based approach to determine person's suitability for 6 different career categories (free)

  • 123 Career Aptitude Test, a relatively straightforward test offers insight into job personality (available free online)

  • Career Project, offers a wide variety of career guides and job profiles (free)

  • Peterson’s Test and Career Prep, offering career and test preparation resources (available through many public libraries via their online resources).
